2022: Looking Back, Moving On

There’s no doubt that 2021 presented us all with unprecedented, unanticipated, unsettling events one way or another. Thanks to all our contributors, submissions to Platform have remained steady during this time. Now the eye of the storm seems to have passed we are now in a position to return to something which looks more like ‘business as usual’ and are currently selecting the stories for our next new submissions showcase ‘After the Storm’ which will be online during February 2022.

To mark our return and in lieu of ‘After the Storm’ we’ve been taking the opportunity to look back as we prepare to move forward. We’ve been spending some time looking over the fabulous content in our previous showcases and invite you to do the same. All our previously published content is accessible on the Writing page, organised chronologically by collection.

We’ve felt inspired, (buoyed up even!) by re-reading the material in our collections. If you’re a fan of quality short fiction you’re bound to find something you like. Whilst it’s so cold outside why not have a browse yourself? If you read something you like remember to leave a message for the writer on our message board. We know how much our writers appreciate it. You can see the type of feedback that has previously been given at the end of each entry. If the comments are more recent, they’ll be on the front page of the website. And of course if goes without saying that if you are a writer of short fiction we are always open for submissions, the guidance for which can be accessed on the Submissions page.

We wish all our writers and readers best wishes for 2022. We are certainly looking forward to a more positive year and hope you’ll continue the next stage of the Platform journey with us.
